I decided to take a little break from folding dollar bills and make some cranes. I noticed that there were some very small cranes being made. So I thought I would give it a shot and see how small I could make one.

I used a piece of cigarette rolling paper to make the two cranes on the penny. The first crane was made with a piece of 1cm x1cm size paper by hand without the help of tweezers.
The second crane was made with a piece of 5mm x5mm size paper and I had to use the tweezers for that one.

I believe the record is 1mm x 1mm. You might be able to beat it ;)

That is just amazing...it boggles my mind how people can make cranes so small...awesome job.

That's pretty amazing. I made some smaller ones after finishing an AP Test a few weeks back (don't think it was 1 cm x 1 cm, but it was getting close). It gets pretty hard to get some of those smaller folds (though you seem to have done a pretty incredible job with these ones =))

Just wondering, were you able to get these on your first try (which would be pretty incredible) or did it take you several attempts to get them as precise as this?

I've made some like that before, though I ended up losing one of them between the keys on my keyboard. I've never had to use tweezers, but the smallest I've gone is about 25x25mm. Nice job :3

Haha I've made really small cranes like that too, its fun ^-^ though mine don't look as detailed as these ones, since I don't use tweezers.. or cut paper for that matter lol, I just rip small pieces of paper off in class and make them.
